Website History

So, just how did iTorrie come about then? Well, I (Melanie) have always been a big fan of Torrie’s. I was always a WWE fan, but in the instance that I did switch the channel over to WCW, I was pleasantly surprised by this buxom blonde. Torrie carried herself in WCW, with such prestige - the beautiful looks, the perfect smile, you couldn’t help fall in love with her. The more I watched WCW, the more I began liking both Torrie and Billy Kidman.

It wasn’t until 2002, that I became interested in websites and would visit wrestling related sites etc., and in July 2003 I opened my first fansite and wrestling site - Randy Orton Web, the site is still around today. As I ran the site and picked up lots of new stuff along the way, my HTML and graphical skills began advancing. Feeling confident, I decided to open a Torrie fansite in late 2003 under the name ‘Torrie Wilson Source’, but as things with my other fansite picked up the idea was soon buried.

In July 2004, I once again plucked up the courage to make a Torrie site and this time executed my plans and Torrie-Style.org was born. The site was well received and lasted nearly two months, until it closed. Again, things at my Randy fansite were growing intense and my dedication was better served to it. After 8 months offline, the site then re-opened briefly in April 2005, but was quickly taken down due to my hosting company at the time. I still had a passion for making a Torrie site, and knew this was something I wanted to do.

In July, my computer crashed and I was without internet for over a month as I returned and began sorting out all my internet related issues, it wouldn’t be until October 2005 that I’d be free to make a new site. Thus, iTorrie was born. How did the name come about? Really, there’s no explanation. I’ve had a lot of my name ideas copied by people in the past - Torrie Style, Carmella Vibe, John Cena Fan etc., therefore I wanted something fresh and out there. I started brainstorming names for the site and going over them with a few friends on MSN, one of my friends told me their iPod was broken, and this struck a lightbulb in my head. Before I knew it, all my friends had agreed that iTorrie was the best name and the rest is history.

In November, the site moved to the domain t-wilson.org. A temporary layout was put up and the site moved into it’s domain hosted by Flirtatious.org, there were several problems with the server and risk of losing my data so I moved to CelebrityHost.net, while this host was seemingly better, the bandwidth issue came into affect. I began creating a layout to show progression to potential hosts and when it was finished I began applying with several different fansite networks, after many rejected applications, Ratib of FasterLikeNow.com agreed to host us and that very day, we moved in.

The site fully opened it’s doors on November, 18 2005 with a stunning layout and extensive content! After three amazing months, in February 2006 the site launched a brand new layout designed by the talented Natalie at Elements-Inc.net. As the site began to soar, iTorrie was joined by Nicole who would go onto become a genuine asset to iTorrie with weekly stills from RAW as well as updating the site on an almost daily basis. With Melanie and Nicole at the helm, the site grew larger - perhaps much too large for Faster Like Now - as in May 2006, we moved to our current host, the amazing So Elite! With so much love and support to share, So Elite gave iTorrie the home it much deserved and thus we are able to host such a complete fansite for all of our visitors! In July 2006, iTorrie reached a pinnacle in it’s time online - as we received an e-mail from the Diva herself, Torrie Wilson! In August 2006, because of the amazing response from our visitors - giving us over 1000 hits per day - we were able to host our first ever fan competition which saw three visitors win a copy of Torrie’s FHM Magazine!

After months with the same layout, in September 2006 - iTorrie launched it’s fall look, designed by Melanie and inspired by one of her favourite sites, Forever Beyonce. It was a much needed breath of fresh air for iTorrie and can only help us grow stronger. With the one year mark approaching, we feel iTorrie will continue to grow for many years to come.

iTorrie continued to go strong into 2007, but just a few months in after over a year at the top, we began feeling the decline. Melanie’s Internet had crashed, and during that time we began having server problems. Ultimately playboy, iTorrie was closed due to the problems and a lack of time. The site remained online for all our fans to visit. However in June 2007, with the promised support of good friends Kaycie and Nicole, we decided to re-open! Why not? We had nearly 30,000 photos, lots of visitors even though our site wasn’t updated - it just goes to show the fantastic fanbase we have out there, here at iTorrie!

With iTorrie now back online for Summer 2007, we launched our fourth edition - a breezy summer pink! With iTorrie back with a new message board to boot! Since our relaunch in July 2007, it’s been all systems go! Not only did we experience a surge of Torrie as she appeared every week on SmackDown! for two months, Torrie graced the cover and pages of the Divas 2007 Special Issue. Oh and there’s the small matter of iTorrie becoming Torrie’s official fansite!

With our new official status and a gorgeous new Torrie photoshoot, it felt like it was time for a change and that’s exactly what we got! iTorrie launched a brand new layout in early September 2007 and is looking fresher and feeling finer than ever before!
