I’m so sorry I’m late with this news but time zone differences and all. As you guys all probably know by now, Torrie was released by WWE less than 24 hours ago.
WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Diva Torrie Wilson as of today, May 8, 2008.
We wish Torrie the best in all her future endeavors.
They couldn’t even let her retire with dignity after giving them nearly 7 years of service. It was reported just a couple of weeks ago that WWE wanted Torrie to stay on for promotional uses, so I don’t know where this news has come from. If anything, WWE should have offered Torrie the chance to become an Alumni like Trish, Lita, Sable. I’m sad and annoyed =(
Well, I got some nerve block shots in my lower back about 4 days ago and I must tell you I was SO SCARED when I walked into the doctor’s office! The needles were RIDICULOUSY huge and I asked them to please not even come close to showing me the needle at all….if I did I surely woulda hobbled right out of that place! They stabbed me in four different places and all I can do right now is pray that it helps. I was sorta hoping that the second I woke up I would feel like a million bucks and maybe just have an impromptu wrestling match with the mean secretary up at the front desk…. That didn’t happen and I am still praying everyday that the pain goes away. PLEASE keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I seriously can’t wait until I can get to the gym and have a serious run……everything happens for a reason though right? I am definately still trying to see the positive in this whole experience ……cuz that’s all you can do!
I had this awesome tatto artist named “Shadow” at my house last night and he did some work on two of my good friends. I have never seen someone so creative and talented in my life! I have added him to my “top friends” so please go check his work out and let me know what you think! ….and no, I didn’t get a tattoo. I really do love tattoo’s on other people but just don’t think I have the guts to get one myself. I am too afraid I would be sick of it in a month and be stuck with it! (-: You never know though, maybe I’ll get a crazy hair and have a toe ring inked on a toe! (so badass right?) ha ha
I did an interview with Yahoo the other day and they will be posting an article a week from monday on Yahoo so keep your eyes peeled for it! I guess you sweet people must have been searching for me quite a bit and Yahoo took notice!
I have an autograph signing in Washington D.C. this Weds. and hope that if you are in the area you come by and say hello. I miss meeting the fans for sure and would sure love to see you!
Ok, well that’s it for now guy’s. Have a great week and I will talk to you soon!
Voting is open at WWE.com for the best dressed diva in the Halloween Costume Contest tonight at Cyber Sunday. Torrie is dressed as a Washington Redskin.
Our pay per view retrospective returns! Earlier this month, we looked back at Torrie’s unbeaten streak at No Mercy and just in time for tomorrow night’s Cyber Sunday pay per view, we again stroll down memory lane!
Cyber Sunday and it’s predecessor, Taboo Tuesday, are the only interactive pay per views on the WWE calendar. And in 2006, Torrie made her interactive debut as she and her fellow Divas were voted to serve as lumberjills in the final of the Women’s Championship tournament! The match was Lita taking on Mickie James for the vacant title and fans had the opportunity to vote between three options: a No Disqualification match, a Divas Lumberjack match or a Submission match. Torrie valiantly served as a lumberjill with the rest of the face Divas as a division was clearly formed between the fan favourites and the heels.
However, while Torrie made her Cyber Sunday debut in 2006, she was pencilled in for the 2005 edition known then as Taboo Tuesday. Torrie was to take part in a Fulfill Your Fantasy Battle Royal, ultimately won by Trish Stratus. Due to personal reasons, Torrie took a brief hiatus from WWE which led to the infamous release crisis.
Tomorrow night, Torrie will make her competitive debut at Cyber Sunday - and it’s been two years in the making, folks - when she competes in a Divas Halloween Costume Contest. What will she wear? You can give your suggestions in our fan poll to the left. And while we ponder and anticipate for the big reveal, why not reacquaint yourself with last year’s Cyber Sunday and Torrie’s lumberjill duties…
Former WWE Diva Molly Holly recently commented on Torrie in a Q & A session at her official website. Thanks to site visitor Torriefan1 for alerting us.
Torrie Wilson has improved so much over the last few years. I think she should have a run at the women’s title. She has put more time into the business than almost any girl currently in the WWE. She is a very beautiful person, inside and out.
WWE has released another statement on Torrie and Mick Foley attending the Opening Ceremony of the Special Olympics yesterday, featuring quotes from them both:
Special Olympics An Emotional Moment For Mick Foley and Torrie Wilson
It was one of those once in a lifetime experiences. Having flown half-way around the world to be part of The Special Olympics World Summer Games in Shanghai, Mick Foley and Torrie Wilson helped kick off the games in style today by participating in Opening Ceremonies worthy of a WWE extravaganza. There were lights, fireworks, celebrities, music, a magical dragon, the lighting of the Olympic Torch and a literal cast of thousands of Special Olympians who came from all over the world to participate in the biggest Special Olympics World Summer Games ever.
Colin Farrell, Yao Ming, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jackie Chan, and Yo Yo Ma were among the celebrities who participated in the formal program. Mick and Torrie were among those celebrities who escorted the Olympians into Shanghai Stadum during the March of Athletes. Torrie marched with the team from Hungary, and Mick escorted the team from Saudi Arabia.
Torrie found herself much more emotional about her participation than she anticipated. “It was very emotional entering the stadium and seeing all of these nations with different cultures celebrating together,” she said. “It’s been fun interacting with the Special Olympians and volunteers, and the people of Shanghai have been so gracious to us. It’s been a great experience so far.” Continue…
We can’t quite count the last time Torrie was in a real storyline with substance. Sure, she’s been involved in angles with Victoria, Candice Michelle, Trish Stratus and others in the past couple of years; but when was the last time we saw Torrie in a long lasting feud with a backstory to it? It seems that the last time was during her last stint on SmackDown! nearly four years ago. During that time, Torrie was featured prominently in longstanding feuds with both Dawn Marie and Sable. However, in today’s WWE it seems like a “real” storyline for the Divas, with both action and acting is too much to ask for.
When Torrie was drafted back to SmackDown! in June, many - including myself - felt like it was the beginning of the end. On RAW, Torrie was at least in with a shot at the Women’s Championship and decent limelight. However, many saw her move back to SmackDown! as a step back; Torrie wouldn’t be considered as a wrestler nor would she appear on the show very often - much like the end of her initial stint on SmackDown! However, this past summer, SmackDown! proved to have even hotter Diva action than it’s RAW counterpart. No one can argue that the multiple Torrie and Victoria matches we’ve seen in the past couple of months have been unenjoyable and in fact, both Divas have been given even more time to shine and develop as characters on Friday nights, rather than get lost in the shuffle on Mondays. Given that SmackDown! isn’t known for a Women’s Championship or active women’s division, Torrie, Victoria and even Michelle McCool have been given fair opportunities on SmackDown! - a far cry from the likes of Mickie James, Jillian and even former Women’s Champion, Melina; all three of whom seem to be disappearing further and further into the background on RAW.
And now enter Krissy Vaine, yesterday Diva fans watched in awe of her debut because for once, WWE created mystery, suspense and drama in a way unbeknownst to the women’s division. Continue…
