A big thanks to Gary at Mizanin Daily for sending this into us. We now have the WWE edit of Torrie’s theme music, A Girl Like That. This is the official version used on television for Torrie’s entrance. If you’re after the full song, you can download that and many of Torrie’s past themes at our audio section. To sample the song, just hit play below. You can download the song at the link provided.
I recently came across this video from the November 25th house show, when Torrie and Michelle McCool teamed up against Victoria and Nattie Neidhart. Credit and ownership to it’s original owners, but I thought it was worth sharing with all you guys! Michelle works most of the match, as Victoria and Nattie try to keep her from tagging in to Torrie. When Torrie finally does get the tag, there’s a really cool pop for her as she hits Victoria with the clotheline! The fans definitely love our girl! And it was great to see the return of Torrie’s facebuster/Nosejob, which we haven’t seen on TV for a long time!
Today we bring you HQ captures and video of Torrie’s match against Nidia from the March 27th 2003 edition of Smackdown which saw Torrie debut her Jumping Tornado DDT to pin the jealous Nidia for the 3 count.
Three days prior to the big Winner Takes All match at the 2001 Survivor Series between the WWF and the Alliance, Torrie and Tajiri represented the WWF against the Alliance’s Ivory and Commisioner William Regal in an intergender tag team match. Before the match William Regal told Torrie that when the WWF lost at Survivor Series he would have a special “position” available for Torrie.
Today we bring you a Post-Thanksgiving look at Torrie’s Thanksgiving related WWE segments.
» In 2002, Torrie and Dawn Marie had a Pilgrim Fashion Show with Torrie dressed as an Indian and Dawn Marie dressed as a slutty Pilgrim. Screen Captures:SmackDown! (November 28, 2002)
» In 2003, Torrie and the Smackdown Roster listened to John Cena’s version of grace before coming out infront of her hometown crowd and dancing with Ernest “The Cat” Miller. Screen Captures:SmackDown! (November 27, 2003) Video:Watch Online
» Thanksgiving 2004 saw Torrie as the special guest ring announcer for the night. After announcing that Rob Van Dam won a match over Kenzo Suzuki, Kenzo’s wife Hiroko slapped Torrie leading to a catfight. Screen Captures:SmackDown! (November 25, 2004)
Captures of Torrie from Survivor Series 2001 have now been added to the gallery. Click here to view them.
After feuding with Victoria since July, tonight in the main event on Smackdown Torrie was finally able to pin Victoria for the three count by countering the Widow’s Peak into a neckbreaker.
Apologies for the long wait, but it’s finally here! I’ve added high quality screen captures from Survivor Series to the gallery, in addition to the ones Josh added earlier. And we also finally have a video! The video is not tagged this time around, I don’t have the right software on my laptop. But I’m sure none of you will think about doing anything shifty, right? Here’s a reason why. For results, scroll down the page.
I didn’t notice this at first, but in case you haven’t noticed Torrie’s sporting one of her own dazzling creations! Her top features the “Jaded” logo in diamond studs. Lovin’ the product placement there!
It’s a little late due to some technical difficulties but now you can look back at Torrie’s first appearance at the Annual Thanksgiving PPV, where after a brutal match with his former mentor William Regal - Torrie came to the aid of her boyfriend Tajiri until Regal laid Torrie out with an underhook powerbomb.
With the Survivor Series just one day away, unfortunately we don’t have any classic Torrie moments from Survivor Series history to relive - but we do have a prelude to this Sunday’s big match up! We’re looking back at another 10 Diva tag team match, just earlier this year. It was the SmackDown! before WrestleMania, where Ashley & Melina would face off for the Women’s Championship, that we caught our first big 10 Diva tag team match. The team of Melina, Victoria, Jillian Hall, Kristal and Michelle McCool faced off against Ashley, Torrie, Mickie James, Maria and Candice. Team Ashley picked up the victory on SmackDown! but just two days later, Melina retained the Women’s Championship.
Of course, since then, things have changed - Ashley is on a hiatus from WWE, Kristal is no longer with the company, Candice is out of action and won’t be in the match and Michelle McCool is batting for the other side! And quite possibly the biggest difference between this match and tomorrow’s, you have to factor in the current Women’s Champion, Beth Phoenix! One can’t help wonder that if Krissy Vaine had stuck around, she too, would be part of this match playing off of the storyline between her and Torrie.
Looking to the SmackDown! match earlier this year, will the fan favourites once again pick up the win, tomorrow night? Or will the more experienced team of Beth, Melina, Victoria, Jillian and err… Layla, show their strength and ability? Until the questions can be answered tomorrow night, this is a good indication of how things might go.
In a Survivor Series teaser, Torrie teamed with Mickie James to take on Victoria and Beth Phoenix for a Diva Tag Team Match. Beth pinned Torrie after countering Torrie’s swinging neckbreaker into a sidewalk slam then slamming Torrie into the mat with a Double Chicken Wing Clamp.
